Frequently Asked Questions
Cleaning Mower
Q: Should I clean my mower on a regular basis?
A: Yes. The bottom of the mower deck should be checked and cleaned twice daily, and more often if the grass is lush or is wet from heavy morning dew. The entire mower should be cleaned daily, following each days operation. Dry grass and leaves allowed to build-up, especially around mower spindles and drive belts, could catch fire from friction generated by these moving components.
Clean with a leaf blower or low pressure compressed air. Wash with water only when necessary. Water cannot be completely removed from the machine, and will cause rust and corrosion. Water, especially from a high pressure washer, can enter electrical plug-ins which may cause shorting within the wiring harness.
Wash the unit only when it is cold, not immediately after mowing. Rapidly cooling hot components may cause unseen system damage. If water is used for cleaning, immediately blow it off using a leaf blower or compressed air.
Always lubricate all grease fittings on the mower following water washing.
